Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

Life Is An Adventure When You're Walking With God!

1. This is post #301. Real exciting eh? Just kidding. On to the real exciting stuff...2. SAGC2007 here I come!!! I am elated beyond belief! So I was really unsure and kinda bummed about what to do since everything in life requires $ and when you have a very limited amount, well, let's just say, not everything is hunky dory. But the good Lord is so faithful and He's makes a way even when there seems to be no way. My uncle in Chicago works for United Airlines...long story short, I've got tickets and I am a happy camper--err, traveler.3.…

Where Are You in the Journey?

The Bible teaches that the Scriptures were given to us so we could learn from their example (1 Corinthians 10:11). Out of all the biblical heroes, there was perhaps no one more enigmatic than Elijah, who experienced all the highs and lows most of us experience in our Christian and human journey. One day he was confronting the enemy; the next day he was running from the enemy in need a fresh word of the Lord to continue his mission. The following passages on the life of Elijah show the various stages all of us go through i.e. The Alone Stage, The Needy Stage, The Persevering and Testing Stage, The Great Faith Stage,  The Discouragement Stage, The Recharging Stage, The Reassessment Stage and The Recommissioning Stage.

Hear My Prayer, O LORD God Almighty

1 How lovely is your dwelling-place, O LORD Almighty! 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,…

Hindus Convert to Buddhism in India

One of the largest mass conversion took place recently in Mumbai (India). Nearly a lakh (hundred thousand) people from tribal and dalit background publicly renouced their animist and hindu faith to embrace Buddhism. Read the news report in Times of India,  IHT, CNN etc.It happend on the 50th anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar’s conversion. The man who wrote the consitution of India and a well-known statesman of early Independant India forsook faith of his birth to become a Buddhist. In the history of modern India, this may be the largest mass conversion. This is not a random occurence, but there…

Jesus, I Give You Me!

"Jesus, I don't have anything to give you today, but just me.  So Jesus, I give you me!" Take the First Step. When was the last time you gave Jesus you?  Why not do it today. I am not telling you to be a social pariah.  I am not telling you how you have to dress, who to associate with, what to do in your free time.  All I am saying is put Jesus first.  Be bold and live for Him, not for the world.  Stand up for what you believe in.  Close your eyes and tell Jesus, “Jesus, today I give you me.  Help me to be on fire for you.”  As you take one step, He will come running to you, with arms wide open. Remember, it is a daily surrender. “[Give] to God what is God’s.”  Give to God that which is made in His likeness. Give yourself to Jesus.

Jesus – My Mentor, Leader, Role Model and Hero

Jesus didn't just speak of healing, he performed it. He didn’t just dislike the devil, he cast him out. He didn't simply sympathize with the hungry, he fed them! He was willing to do, he was ready to act. His words were heard and repeated, not because of their excellence in language, but for their effectiveness in function! Remember Christian, mere words will be trashed by this world, but true authority will liberate the bound. . . .When you preach the gospel it is not mere words. There is ALMIGHTY power ready and available to back the 'truth' that you preach! . . . Remember saint, “The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." (I Corinthians 4:20)

Spiritual Authority, Natural Authority and Accountability

There is a great deal of confusion over the subject of Spiritual Authority because people tend to confuse natural authority and spiritual authority. True spiritual authority is the power to be the servant of all, and being a servant is without question foundational. Only people who have laid down their lives and who have the active power of the Holy Spirit in their lives can be true servants. True spiritual authority is one of the most difficult things to master because it requires self-sacrifice and self-denial. Spiritual authority is the power to take up one's cross and follow Christ. Men who submit themselves to the true spiritual authority of the Holy Spirit will not become the spiritual authority to others. They know that to do this would be to supplant God.

Changes

so that thing that i was talking about i two blogs ago, point #5, is that my dad sold his business. generally he's in the business of creating businesses, he usually starts them up and sells them soon after, but this last one's hung around for a while- too long for his liking. and finally after much prayer and God-interference it finally sold. now for my mom and dad this is what they've been waiting for for nearly 3 years, but for me and my sister it's become that bittersweet moment we've been dreading for as long as they've been…

Desi Sexual Practises

Here is report on Indian American sexual practises. It appeared in Columbia Science Journal. Once a topic that is never talked about in public, now being researched by professionals and published for all to see. May be that is why it is of lots of interest to find out what goes on in the private lifes of people. Read reports in Indolink and Economic Times. The study explores the decision-making processes, attitudes, and belief systems of young Desis with respect to their sexual behavior among 18-24 year old young adults in New York.Findings: a) 77.8% of first-generation South Asians reporting never…

The Fairness Nonsense

Why is that with Indians, fair skin always equals beautiful skin? Why is dark, south Indian skin looked down on? How can people be so ridiculously shallow? It doesn't matter what the skin color is. I have seen beautiful models from Africa with the bluish-dark skin. It looks kinda exotic and cool. And, I have seen drop dead handsome guys with dark skin. And remember there is verse from Song of Solomon that says, "Dark as I am, yet lovely..." Not to sound full of myself but I am naturally dark and have no problems getting attention from guys. [laughing]…

The Other India – Poverty

Most coverage on India on the global media is bouyant, fast growing economy, largest democracy, shining stars etc. Let’s not forget there is another side of India - 300 million people who are considered poor. Read a series of insightful articles in Outlook about the other side of India.Rising income disparity, urban poverty, malnourishement of small children, inadequate health care and educational opporutnity, no electricity or running water etc. are still a crude reality for large masses of India. They are yet to send their first email (or even to see a computer in a country that has made great…

Revelation of My Unity With Divinity

This story is a perfect picture of the church today. We are singing, preaching and talking like chickens. We have even mastered how to be ‘saved sinners’ and tolerate sin, sickness and poverty. However, when someone tries to tell us we are eagles, we refuse to believe it, choosing rather to live as chickens. If we could just get the revelation and allow a seed of the Word to be sown in our hearts, that seed will grow and we will soar high in heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above all principalities, power and might and every name that is named! Ephesians (1:17-22) A time is coming in the earth when there will be many SONS walking in the likeness of Jesus, the Son of God – the firstborn-again person who showed us what a human united with God could do on the earth. There will be a manifestation of the Sons of God that will invade the earth in a greater way than is already happening.

This Giant Spider Appears Out Of Nowhere And It Was HUGE

1. So, it says Saturday up there at the title, but it's just really late Friday night. My blogging has become less frequent than before I suppose. And I guess it makes sense because usually it serves as a sort of stress-release/ venting sort of activity and since my life has become so much less chaotic than a few weeks ago (comparatively speaking), it just so happens that I blog less... and since I have no papers to write, I'm not on the computer very much either.2. So what has life been like? Well, overall, very good. I have been…

Inside A Teenage Brain

Ever wondered what goes on inside the mind of a teenager? The award-winning PBS documentary program Frontline gets to the heart of this question, “Inside the World of the Teenage Brain“. It is a must-watch for all youth leaders. It’s a well-researched, and fascinating roller-coaster ride through the wicked synapses of a teenager’s command-and-control center. But the tragedy is that when you watch a detailed documentary and think that you have figured everything about teen brain, it has already morphed into something entirely different. Also knowing what is on their mind is no clue to know what is on their hearts. Unless…

My New Job

It is so weird to walk into a school but this time I'm the grown up. I started tutoring, being a teachers aide and other stuff. I tried elementary school and I am not good with little kids. The first day of my job, I was working with kindergarteners. I didn't realize how much energy a whole group of little people can have. I tutored reading to 3rd graders on the same day. While watching the kindergarteners during lunch time a little girl liked me because we both wore the same shoes that day. And because I was a cool…

See The Answer!

Can You See The Answer? All of us are good at seeing the problems. But how many of us can see the answers? When problems overwhelm you, it is quite difficult to see that the answer is already given. We forget everything that God has already done. We forget the promises upon our lives. We forget the spiritual authority granted to us. Instead of standing up as a giant and exercising the spiritual authority, we crumble on our knees and start crying like babies.Until we learn to acquire that mindset, we will be fretting over a lot of things.  May God help you to win the battles in your life today!

Teen Health Worse Than Predecesors

Today’s teenagers are the first generation whose health is worse than their parents. A major research study on global adolescent health appeared on the UK based medical journal - Lancet. See also a report in Daily Mail.Nearly half of the world’s population is below the age of 25 - largest ever in history. Despite living in an age of unprecedented medical advances, health information, prosperity and life expectancy, adolescents are reversing the long-term trend of ever-rising good health. The journal reported teenagers are doing worse than their predecessors across nearly all the traditional measures of health. The leading causes of disease…

Trying New Things . . .

Shaadi.com. I don't really like the concept and made fun of these online sites. But yeah, I put myself up on shaadi.com just for curiousity and who knows? I was searching through this site and I am seeing mostly fobbish guys. Well...with a name like shaadi.com what can I expect? I did see one or two interesting guys (that is non-fobs); and if they asked me, I wouldn't mind going out on a date with. But, then again this is the internet so I better watch my back.    * Writing my novel. I am trying to get started on…
