Chandra Singh, presently Associate Director of Finance as well as Professor and Head of Urology Unit 1 (Dept. of Urology) in CMC Vellore encourages and inspires us not to settle for less than God’s plan for our lives with instances from his life and how CMC Vellore came to be what it is today.
Dr. Chandra Singh is a Professor and Head of Urology Unit I at CMC, Vellore. He has done advanced training in Paediatric Urology—to take care of urological problems in babies and children—at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Singh completed his MBBS, MS, and MCh at CMC, Vellore. He was awarded the Jacob Chandy Gold Medal for “The Best Clinical Student” during his MBBS, a University Gold Medal for MS General Surgery as well as MCh Urology, and a Gold Medal for the National Board Examinations in Urology.
At Columbus, where he trained in Paediatric Urology, he was awarded “Surgical House Officer Of The Year.” Subsequently, he was also the recipient of the Best Teacher Award at CMC. Dr. Chandra was the Associate Editor of the Indian Journal of Urology and also the Founding Member of Uroeducation, an international Yahoo Groups based educational platform for urology learning, and is currently the Associate Director for Finance at CMC, Vellore.
