There Are So Many Things To Thank God For In My Life. I Turn 58 Years Old, Each Day A Precious Gift From God. This Year 2022 Also Marks My 25th Anniversary In Full-Time Christian Service. I Was Born 7.20pm On 22nd May 1964 In Singapore To An Ordinary, Simple, Punjabi Sikh Family.
At 13 Years Old, I Gave My Life Wholeheartedly To Jesus As My LORD, Saviour and King And Have Been 100% Serious And Faithful To God, The Church And The Kingdom Of God Ever Since.
YOU COULD SAY I HAVE BEEN MARKED BY GOD With A Seal Of The Promised Holy Spirit. It’s All God’s Work, Mercy And Favour, Nothing Of Me Except To Obediently Say YES TO GOD MOST HIGH.

I Want To Thank God For My Salvation and MY NAME WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, A Punjabi Sikh Who Became A Christian.
A Good Natured And Obedient Boy, My Mother Used To Bring Me To The Sikh Temple Almost Every Weekend And Especially Sundays. It Was A Full Day Outing At The Sikh Temple From Early Morning Till Late Evening, As Some Of You Can Identify With Me, This Being About 50 Years Ago.
The Religious Community Experiences At The Sikh Temple Were Enjoyable Where I Listened Attentively To About Three Hours Long Prayers And Readings In A Language I Did Not Understand (Gurmukhi, The Sacred Language Of The Gurbani, Which Is Different From Spoken Punjabi) Obediently Sat Crossed-Legged On The Carpeted Floor Besides My Mother.
THE GRAND FINALE OF THE WHOLE SERVICE WAS THE COMMUNITY LANGAR FREE FLOW, EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN EAT TEMPLE FOOD WHICH IS THE BEST VEGETARIAN FOOD, TRUST ME. We Ate And Mingled With Relatives And New Found Friends With Grateful Hearts And Drinking The BEST Temple Tea.
I HAD ALWAYS LOVED GOD And Was Spiritual Even As A Young Boy. I Often Looked Into The Night Sky Or At The Beautiful Animal and Plant Kingdoms And Wonder, “WHO MADE ALL THESE WONDERFUL THINGS?
In Primary School, I Topped The Primary 6 Cohort With A Score Of 99 Upon 100 Marks In Science Winning An Encyclopaedia in 1976 (With No Tuition or Revision At All) And Was A Grade A Student In Biology, Chemistry And Physics In The Higher Educational Levels.
The Scientific Enquiry And Questioning Of Everything Approach To Life, Even At The Temple Led Me To Always Ask, “Why Are Things Done The Way They Are Done?”
I HAD NEVER BEEN TO CHURCH In My Life At All And Did Not Even Know What A Church Is Till I Was 12 Years Old. My First Experience Of Church Was Attending Sunday School And The Games and Camps They Organized.
At 13 Years Old, I I Attended The Youth For Christ Club Held At The Same Church. The Young Singapore Polytechnic 18 Years Old Student Speaker At The Youth For Christ Club Spoke About Death And Suffering For Christ, Referencing To Faith Stories in Communist China And The Iron Curtain Countries of the 1950’s.
The Student Leader Said, “Who Is Willing to Make Your Life Count For God? Who Is Willing To Suffer And Die For Christ?”
I SAY YES GOD. COUNT ME IN. I AM WILLING TO SUFFER AND TO DIE FOR MY GOD AND KING. [Those Days, The Prosperity Health And Wealth Gospel Was Not in Vogue And No One Taught It. Thank God, Halleluyah, Praise The LORD, Or Else You Won’t See Me Here.
The Older Students From The Youth For Christ Club, Either From The Polytechnic Or The University, Mentored Me Faithfully In The Christian Disciplines Of Bible Reading, Prayer, Worship, Fasting, Evangelism. At Church, I Found Christian Worship Music The BEST Music To My Ears. I Read And Memorized the Bible, The BEST Book For Experiential Spiritual Living. The Christian Community Were Genuine And Fun to Be With.
Jesus Said, “You Have Not Chosen Me, BUT I HAVE CHOSEN YOU AND I HAVE APPOINTED AND PLACED AND PURPOSEFULLY PLANTED YOU, So That You Would Go And Bear Fruit And Keep On Bearing, And That Your Fruit Will Remain And Be Lasting, So That Whatever You Ask Of The Father In My Name [As My Representative] He May Give To You.” John 15:16

As I Reflect These 25 Years Of Full-Time Christian Service Having Left My Job As A Chemistry And Biology Teacher, I Honestly Want To Say, I AM THE LEAST QUALIFIED TO DO THIS JOB AS THE PASTOR OF A CHURCH. There Were Tens Of Thousands Of Times And Even Now, I Cry And Say To God, “God, I CAN’T DO THIS!” There Are Better People Out There Who Can Do This Job.
BUT I AM A MAN WITH A SOFT AND SENSITIVE HEART TO THE THINGS OF GOD AND WHO OBEYS AND LOVES GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
I Will Always Say, “YES GOD, FOR YOU EVERYTHING GOD. YES GOD, I Will Do It But Only If You Help Me In Everything.”
YOU COULD SAY I AM THE RELUCTANT PASTOR WHO SAID YES TO GOD For 25 Years Already And Counting.
This Is The 14th Year I Pioneered SAIF-Church, Working From My HDB Bedroom In Jurong West Extension And Renting A Church Space Only For Sunday Evenings From 4pm Onwards.
My SAIF-Church Board Paid Me A Humble Salary Of $1000 In 2007 For About 5 Years And Then Mercifully My Salary Rose Slowly To $1200, $1500, $1700, $2000 etc And Now My Take Home Salary in 2022 is $2,500.
GOD IS SO GOOD TO ME. I Never Lacked Anything Those Years And Even Now, God Provides Everything To Do His Work.
I Seriously Doubt Any Person With A Master’s Degree, A National University of Singapore Degree, A Postgraduate Teaching Diploma With Distinctions And Many Years Of Experience Would Work For Such A Salary But I Did.
THERE WAS DEEP JOY, MEANING, PURPOSE AND A HIGHER CALLING Serving My LORD And King. GOD ULTIMATELY IS MY MASTER AND MY HEAVENLY BOSS.
WE ARE A ZERO ASSET CHURCH. Nothing Big, A Humble Simple Church Where Literally 90% Of Our Congregation Are Foreigners, Foreign Workers And Domestic Helpers. God Has Called Me To These People Group And I Want To Be Faithful To God Blooming Where He Has Planted Me.
Strangely, The Poor, The Marginalized And The Disadvantaged Are Attracted To Me And To SAIF-Church. We Love Them With The Love Of The LORD And Point Them To God. WE ARE A GENUINE LOVING CHURCH, RELIGIOUS FRAUDS AND FAKES WILL BE EASILY EXPOSED.

Despite Having Grand Mal Epilepsy/Seizures For 30 Years (Most Definitely I Am Not Demon Possessed, I Assure You) and Prostrate Enlargement, I Am Incredibly Healthy For A 58 Years Old Guy Hitting The Gym 4 To 5 Times A Week. I Once Took Part In A Body Building Competition When I Was 27 Years Old And Won 3rd Prize, Ran Two Full Marathons Of 42.195 km, Canoed 125 km In The Open Sea, Climbed A Few Mountains, PRAYER WALKED THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF SINGAPORE TWICE.
YES, I Did It Twice, PRAYER WALKING From The North To The South Of Singapore And The East To The West Of Singapore. The First Time I Prayer Walked To Seek God If I Should Pioneer SAIF-Church in 2007, “GOD DO YOU REALLY WANT ME TO OPEN A CHURCH IN SINGAPORE?”
And The Next Time For The Church Van In 2017. AFTER WALKING THE WHOLE OF SINGAPORE, GOD GAVE ME A 10 YEARS OLD CHURCH VAN WHICH WAS ABOUT TO BE SCRAPPED. I Am So Grateful To God And Sometimes When I Listen To Worship Music In The Van Or Think About This Van, There Is Tears In My Eyes. Driving Is A Luxury In Singapore.

But Lately I Have Not Been Feeling So Well With A Recently Diagnosed Hashimoto Autoimmune Disease. The Covid-19 Pfizer Jabs Have A Definite Part To Play In This. My Own Immune System, The White Blood Cells Is Attacking The Thyroid Cells Of My Body, Recognizing It As An Enemy Or Foreign Body And Destroying It.
Hashimoto Autoimmune Disease Affect Overall Body Metabolism And Every Body Function. I Knew Something Major Is Not Well With Me For Some Time Now Since The Covid-19 Pfizer Jabs But I Thank God, It Is Diagnosed Properly About 3 Weeks Ago. I Feel Slow And Sluggish In Everything. Fat, Fatigued, Foggy. Add To That Depression And Zero Energy. EVERY SMALL SINGLE THING TAKES SO MUCH EFFORT.

It Cost $4.50 Per Person Now For 80 People Totaling $360 Per Sunday Which Can Feed 120 People. It Used To Be $3.30 Two Years Ago Before The Pandemic. This Price Increase Is Because Of Inflation.
This Indian Muslim Caterer Loves The Work Of The Church And This Is A Way He Blesses The Good Work We Do For The Community. Some Of These Domestic Workers And Foreign Workers Earn Very Little ($20-$25 Dollars a Day) For Very Hard Laborious Work. This Is Showing Kindness And Love In Action.

He never had a family. (Yes) He never owned a house. He never went to college. He never visited a big city. He never went two hundred miles from where he was born. He did none of the usual things that the world would associate with greatness. He had no credentials but himself.
He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against him. They called him a rabble-rouser. They called him a troublemaker. They said he was an agitator. (Glory to God) He practiced civil disobedience; he broke injunctions. And so he was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. And the irony of it all is that his friends turned him over to them. (Amen) One of his closest friends denied him. Another of his friends turned him over to his enemies. And while he was dying, the people who killed him gambled for his clothing, the only possession that he had in the world. (Lord help him) When he was dead he was buried in a borrowed tomb, through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone and today he stands as the most influential figure that ever entered human history. All of the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned put together (Yes) have not affected the life of man on this earth (Amen) as much as that one solitary life. His name may be a familiar one. (Jesus) But today I can hear them talking about him. Every now and then somebody says, “He’s King of Kings.” (Yes) And again I can hear somebody saying, “He’s Lord of Lords.” Somewhere else I can hear somebody saying, “In Christ there is no East nor West.” (Yes) And then they go on and talk about, “In Him there’s no North and South, but one great Fellowship of Love throughout the whole wide world.” He didn’t have anything. (Amen) He just went around serving and doing good.
This morning, you can be on his right hand and his left hand if you serve. (Amen) It’s the only way in.
Every now and then I guess we all think realistically (Yes, sir) about that day when we will be victimized with what is life’s final common denominator—that something that we call death. We all think about it. And every now and then I think about my own death and I think about my own funeral. And I don’t think of it in a morbid sense. And every now and then I ask myself, “What is it that I would want said?” And I leave the word to you this morning.
If any of you are around when I have to meet my day, I don’t want a long funeral. And if you get somebody to deliver the eulogy, tell them not to talk too long. (Yes) And every now and then I wonder what I want them to say. Tell them not to mention that I have a Nobel Peace Prize—that isn’t important. Tell them not to mention that I have three or four hundred other awards—that’s not important. Tell them not to mention where I went to school. (Yes)
I’d like somebody to mention that day that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to give his life serving others. (Yes)
I’d like for somebody to say that day that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to love somebody.
I want you to say that day that I tried to be right on the war question. (Amen)
I want you to be able to say that day that I did try to feed the hungry. (Yes)
And I want you to be able to say that day that I did try in my life to clothe those who were naked. (Yes)
I want you to say on that day that I did try in my life to visit those who were in prison. (Lord)
I want you to say that I tried to love and serve humanity. (Yes)
Yes, if you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice. (Amen) Say that I was a drum major for peace. (Yes) I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter. (Yes) I won’t have any money to leave behind. I won’t have the fine and luxurious things of life to leave behind. But I just want to leave a committed life behind. (Amen) And that’s all I want to say.

(aged 39). In 1968, King was planning a national occupation of Washington, D.C., to be called the Poor People’s Campaign, when he was assassinated (gunshot) in The Lorraine Motel on April 4 in Memphis, Tennessee.

My sincerest prayers and intercessory supplications go ‘up’ to Lord Jesus for your swift and complete healing from Hashimoto’s (I know how you feel, as I am a fellow-traveler!) Please look towards supplementation with iodine/iodide, Selenium, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper and other cofactor (ATP?) Modern medicine dismisses these, and merrily goes around in ‘practice on human beings, lading them with synthetic and porcine thyroid hormone!
Our journeys towards my Lord and Master are similar though the outset of mine was in the 1960s! I shall be in touch, Pastor Sir!
