Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

I Have Found My Purpose, Have You?

As I started to pursue the call of God in my life, I was not sure whether I should be in full time ministry. Two or three years I was in dilemma about this matter. But the desire to teach and preach the word of God increased still more. After that I joined in a Bible college which God directed me to join. A lot of maturity and revelation came to me those days. God miraculously provided all the fees I needed to finish it. I found true joy and peace as I obeyed the voice of God. Praise the Lord! . .  . . Even from the day I heard God, the burden to reach out to the nation of India and China which are the most populated nations and to the nations with the word of God increased in me.

7 Highly Effective Eagle Habits from the Bible

Eagles are the only birds that loves the storm. When all other birds try to flee from the storm and hide itself from the fierceness of it, eagles fly in to it and will use the wind of the strom to rise higher in a fraction of seconds. It uses the pressure of the storm to glide higher without using its own energy. It is able to do this because God has created it uniquely with an ability to lock its wings in a fixed position, in the midst of the fierce storm winds. After a certain period of experiencing storms face to face, the eagles love to play in the storms. As we face the stormy wind of afflictions in life, the Holy Spirit helps us lock our mind in a fixed position with the grace of God through faith in the finished work of the Cross, which helps us not to spend our energy but just stay in the storm and enjoy the lift and height of heavenly mindedness in a greater and greater altitude.

So Broke, So In Debt But Here Am I Lord – "Use Me"

I had so many odds against me – I do not have any money, I do not have a passport or a valid birth certificate. I battled in my mind and thought for many days “Is it possible for me to go to Singapore with nothing in my hand and on a very short notice?” My father encouraged me with these words from the book of Romans “The Just Shall Live By Faith” and told me to read, meditate and pray these words over my life. I took a step of faith and immediately began the process of planning to go to the  School of Theology in Singapore.. .  . . I totally depended on God for everything – for finances, for a lap-top, for friends, for food, for travel and living arrangements. God gave me many good friends from many different countries of the  world, provided for my every need and even a lap-top for my personal use.

What’s So Great About Christianity

The contribution of Christians to the West is enormous.  Christians were the first the build hospitals.  Initially it was mainly for Christians, later it was for every one.  The beneficiaries were the Muslims who came to Christian lands to conquer them.  Christianity produced leaders like who served the poor and sick, which is unheard in other religions.  Christians have contributed to improve human life and reduce human suffering. . . . . . The author presents Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and how Christianity could change a person’s life in the last two chapters. It is a wonderful book that should be read by all Christian thinkers and use this book for evangelizing the intellectuals.  All Christian leaders, pastors, missionaries and professionals should read this book.

Evil – How Defined? To Be Accepted Or Fought?

As I am preparing to give a lecture on this topic, and I have never earlier spoken or written on it, I thought I might post the outline to get the benefit of your thoughts:

EVIL: How defined? To be Accepted or Fought?
A Cross-cultural and Inter-religious Comparison by Professor Prabhu Guptara

Every Fourth Migrant In Singapore Is An Indian

Indian nationals settling down in Singapore due to its friendly-environment, now account for about a quarter of the total 1.79 million foreigners and permanent residents' population, a newspaper reported today.

According to a report published in The Straits Times the number of Indian nationals living in Singapore has doubled to 400,000 from 200,000 two years ago. It also reports the number of Indians setting up companies in Singapore has doubled from 1,500 in 2006 to 3,000 now, most of whom are doing businesses in the information technology, finance, trading and food and beverages sector.

"Do Not Say, I Am Just A Youth!"

Then God called Jeremiah, he replied, "Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth" (Jeremiah 1:6).

But God corrected him, "Do Not Say, I Am A Youth."

God gave seven reasons why Jeremiah should not hesitate to accept His commission.

The LOST Son

Christians are familiar with what has become the most famous short story all in the Bible. It was narrated by none other than Jesus himself and is commonly called ‘the parable of the Prodigal Son’ (Lk.15: 11-24). All of us humans are on a journey of discovery and in examining the experiences of this young person we notice 3 obvious facts directly related to his and our ‘pursuit of happiness’

Why the Ground Zero Mosque Controversy is a Good Thing

National and local leaders (like New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg) are revealing their true views regarding religious freedom, their willingness to fight or pander to terrorist groups, as well as their love and respect for the Christian religion. For example, while Mayor Bloomberg is passionately supporting the building of the Ground Zero mosque, thus far he has not said anything publicly about helping the Greek Orthodox people rebuild after their church building was destroyed when one of the World Trade Center towers collapsed upon it on 9/11.

Ten Traits of Narcissistic Leaders

By definition, a narcissist is a person who believes the world revolves around them to such an extent their own desires blind them to relational reality which makes them insensitive to the needs and perspectives of others. One of the sad realities in our consumer driven, hedonistic culture is that we are producing millions of narcissistic people including leaders of large organizations. Because of our sinful nature as human beings, all of us have some narcissistic tendencies to deal with.

Christ & New Generation Youth

Spiritual need touches every class in India, whether traditional village farmers who have practiced the ways of their fathers for hundreds of years, or workers in its new and fast-growing hi-tech industries. In cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad/Secunderabad and Delhi, a new and upwardly mobile class represents unique challenges. "The rapid growth of the high-tech industry in India, provides one of the newest, largest, and most influencial unreached people groups in the country," according to Dr. T. Valson Abraham (President of India Gospel Outreach).

Missed Opportunities

When I was growing up, there was a boy in my neighbourhood who was much loved and pampered and given the best that his family could afford. The parents were extremely nice and everyone in the community liked them. The father was a government employee, and the family had all sorts of dreams for the boy. I used to think how lucky he was and was sure he would go far. The family, however, moved away and I lost touch with them.

On The Second Anniversary of the Kandhamal Massacre

You may recollect that it is two years since the massacres took place in Orissa, India.

Though the official figures do not add up, they do provide a picture of how little has been done in terms of justice (the picture is similar in terms of actual help to the victims):

Number of complaints lodged: 3232
Number of cases actually registered by the police: 831

Eight Signs You Are a Deceived Backslider

There are millions of deceived people in this nation who believe they are still following Christ when in fact they are not. What makes it deceiving is that some are still regularly attending Sunday church services and/or reading the Bible and praying on occasion. Before we continue let me first define what I mean in this article by the word “backslider.” By backslider I mean a person who is losing ground spiritually and is not as committed to growing, seeking, and loving Christ as they did at one time in their life. Backsliding is a spiritual disease that many leaders are afraid to confront and many in the church are afraid to admit. Some of these signs may fit a backslider, but in many cases just one of these signs is enough to fit the category of backslider.

Kings & Kingdoms

Stargazing Worshippers
If there is anything that shakes kings and empires, it is the thought of someone or something undermining and possibly even replacing it. In Matthew 2 we continue to see the amazing phenomenon that was Jesus’ birth, but we also see the first attempt by the establish ment to snuff it out.

Legacy – Success & Fulfillment

LEGACY: Success & Fulfillment by Dr. Samuel R. Chand

JUMP START YOUR LEGACY VISION PLANNING . . .

My Backward Plan

The simple premise of backward planning is that we define our prime objective, or a big goal that will move us toward our prime objective and assign it a date. As Henry Kimsey-House said, “A goal without a date is a dream.”

Second, we need to figure out the next to last thing that needs to happen before our goal is met, and figure the time frame for that.

Dying For Her To Live

Prepping for preaching on masculinity this Sunday and came across this quote:

A husband must embrace self-sacrifice for the sake of his wife’s well-being . . . . the main threat against which a man must protect his wife is his own sin. A friend once expressed his awakening to this truth in these words: ‘I used to think that if a man came into my house to attack my wife, I would certainly stand up to him.

Historian And Scholar Harassed By Indian Authorities

A news release with the above title has come to my attention, which I include in its entirety below. Abuse of power by bureaucrats and politicians is a huge problem in India. My advice to Mr Nath is to start a movement aimed at eliminating such abuses.
