Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

Life With God Is A Faith Adventure Par Excellence

As a teenager, when I gave my life to Jesus, I could never have imagined the awesome adventure I was about to embark on.  It is an adventure that has allowed me to travel to the ends of the earth, partner with the forces of good, and battle against the legions of evil.  It is an adventure that has allowed me to see, hear and experience the supernatural as I have put on the helmet of salvation, taken up the shield of faith and wielded the sword of the Spirit.  . . . Last year alone, for me, has been full of adventure, excitement and the unknown.  I started the year as an employment attorney for a prestigious law firm – working around the clock on a high profile case – making good money.  I am ending the year unemployed in a foreign land – working to reach and help nameless people – living completely by faith.

By Faith

Due to issues beyond my control, the tickets for this summer's London/India trip have not been finalized. I'm still expecting to go. The opposition however is wearing me out, so I'm going to just let people say what they will and rely completely on God.I don't have the answers for questions like: Where the money will come from? What exactly are two girls going to do in India? What if something goes wrong? What if we are stranded? What if you get lost? What if you get sick? Who will take care of you? etc. There are people/ministries in Bombay, Kerala,…

I Live In A Dream World

I don't even know how to pray for thisThere's so much I want to ask and sayBut I dont know where to endI don't know how I feelBecause all I know is that my heart feels heavy;God I ask for Your peace - Sometimes I just wish God would just tell us what He wants us to do! I hate the waiting and the endless ups and downs. - I wish people would stop talking about faith. I wish they would just put it into action! -I wish people would stop seeing things out of their own eyes. I wish…

The Strokes Of A Pen Can Change The World.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:20-21 The Strokes of a pen can change the world. The Voice of a Virtuaso captivates the people. The Touch and Caress of fingers comfort or destroy a man......I could go on but the pen is still mightier. Praise you Lord, thank you for this wonderful productive day, a step closer to victory, a step closer to you, a growing of myself in stature and…

The Long and Winding Road Home

At different stages of my youth, I followed Hinduism, Islam and various cults. Suffice to say, I mixed with bad company and became very violent. My parents took me to India under the pretext of a visit but actually used the trip to put me into a hostel. The hostel was a prison for me. I lost all my friends and was in a new world that I could not relate to . . . .this depressed me further and made me more violent. My affinity for heavy metal music further darkened me: I could hear sublimal messages in the music. I even went out to the woods at night to connect with spirits. I had become a nightmare to my family, school and most people I came into contact with . . . but God lovingly brought me 'home' and made something beautiful of my life.

Teen Suicides

According to a CDC report, child and teen suicide rates rose for the first time in more than a decade in 2004. India has the highest suicides worldwide and Bangalore is the suicide capital of the world. The recent report of teen suicides in US is blamed on the stronger warning labels that led to a drop in the number of prescriptions for antidepressant drugs. The report seemed to concocted by drug companies who make antidepressent against FDA’s labeling norms. What is more disturbing is the dramatic rise of depression among teens in the west and the popular belief of…

And Life Goes On . . .

i've kept away from blogging for the primary reason that we had a slow internet connection and i couldn't be bothered to sit around and wait for eternity's end for a page to load, i've also been occupying the majority of my time catching up on readings and therefore just haven't had the time to sit down and write.i've got nothing worth talking about going on in my life, same-old same-old. so, i thought i'd paint the furniture in my room before my parents had anything to say about it, but i didn't like what i did to it, so…

Reading Week and Almost Finished Booking Tickets To London

So it's reading week and I'm supposed to be reading my 17-thousand pages of somebody's else's crap and doing research for papers and studying for midterms in classes with unrealistic profs who expect you to know every freakin detail of every single reading and every single lecture!! Two days have gone by and I've accomplished...*drumroll please*...nothing! You know, I swear something is wrong with my brain, like I must have ADD or something. I look at my readings and all I see are words that make no sense. And after like half a sentence, I'm already sleepy or my mind…

Which Religion Should You Follow? The Answer Is None!

Every human being has an inbuilt desire to know where they come from. The Creator has also in-built in us a guiding function known as our conscience. Truth is experienced by a true desire to know God and turn away from sin. Harmit Jandu writes, "I personally do not believe in ‘religion’. I’m not religious but I am spiritual. Religion is man-made efforts to reach God that produce little or no results. Religion is based on ritual and it is in this distant way that many follow God. God is not into religion - He is into relationship with His creation."

Creation Science: Support for Genesis Chapter One

Modern Science lends its weight to Genesis Chapter One. This article takes the reader through each verse of the first chapter of the book of Genesis and shows how it integrates with modern scientific knowledge. Rosario D'Souza writes " . . . Moses gave a very accurate account of creation in the first chapter of the book of Genesis. The conclusion is that there was no way for him to have that knowledge at the time of writing unless he was inspired by God. The very first chapter of the first book of the Bible establishes the authenticity of God's authorship of the Bible."

Me and My Ideas

Sometimes I wonder about the thoughts that went through my parents mind, when I came up with the craziest ideas. When I was really young, everyone thought it was just cute. I still have crazy ideas very often.Surya & I were looking at our heritage. Finding out our real origins and stuff like that really fascinates me. My parents already told me stories about our family from the last 4 or 5 generations. Since then, our relatives are so strange and crazy. I am curious to go back a couple of generations but I don't think anything will change. So…

Brown Girls and Inter-Racial Relationships

my creative stints are becoming fewer and farther between, i suspect it's because UBC, for the past 4 years, has been slowly and painfully drawing out of me every last drop of creativity. between trying to find a job, pining about my solitary confinement, and trying to put on an air of confidence about what is yet to come, i've lost the desire to write and try to put into words sappy tears and vengeful anger. my journal sits amidst the wasteland of books and novels which i call my bookshelf, and my pen only has ink for lecture notes.…

Third Culture Kid – A Global Citizen

1. If life were like a box of chocolates, I feel like someone picked up mine and turned in upside down and gave it a good hard shake! Not that anything was in order in the first place... 2. Been listening to a lot of Leeland, usually I like only one or two songs off of any given CD, but these guys are really good...love most of the songs especially "Beautiful Lord" and "Sound of Melodies" and several others. 3. Deeper Walk #4 :: Catalyst 4. I'm realizing everyday just how much of a third culture kid I am--a global…
