I Fasted for 40 Days To Seek God

For 40 Days I Fasted From Food, Phone, And Society - It Was As Much Of A Wilderness As I Could Make It. I Did Eat A Small Breakfast Every Day, But No Lunch Or Dinner/ Equivalents. Zero Social Media/ Movies/ Or Hanging Out. These Were Times Dedicated To Prayer, Reading God's Word And Seeking His Will For My Life.

Pandemic, Pestilence, Plague And Christian Faith

Christians Face A Great Apocalyptic Challenge Of The Coronavirus Pandemic As Do All Others. It Is Indeed A Spiritual Challenge That Draws Us Closer To The Lord, Love One Another And Demonstrate Love To The World. This Is Also Time To Serve Others Sacrificially. Let Us Explore Creative Ways To Give Hope, Share Essentials And Shine Bright In Such Times Of Darkness And Death.

God’s Love and Forgiveness

Then I Acknowledged My Sin To You And Did Not Cover Up My Iniquity. I Said, "I Will Confess My Transgressions To The LORD." And You Forgave The Guilt Of My Sin. Psalm 32:5 But With You There Is Forgiveness, So That We Can, With Reverence, Serve You. Psalm 130:4

Powerful Priorities

Those who want to succeed in life, set their priorities aright. It is worth noting in this passage here some priorities listed are for our practical application. We are already into the first month of the New Year 2021. But it's never too late to re-organise our priorities to make your life worth-living.

Throw Away The Foreign Gods. Joshua 24:22-24 Set In Biblical Text Of Context

Then Joshua Said, “You Are Witnesses Against Yourselves That You Have Chosen To Serve The Lord.” “Yes, We Are Witnesses,” They Replied. “Now Then,” Said Joshua, “Throw Away The Foreign Gods That Are Among You And Yield Your Hearts To The Lord, The God Of Israel.” And The People Said To Joshua, “We Will Serve The Lord Our God And Obey Him.” Joshua 24:22-24 Set In Biblical Text Of Context

Confessions of Augustine

“I had been extremely miserable in adolescence, miserable from its very onset, and as I prayed to You [God] for the gift of chastity I even pleaded, ‘Grant me chastity and self-control, but please not yet.’ I was afraid that You might hear me immediately and heal me forthwith of the morbid lust which I was more anxious to satisfy than to snuff out.”(The Confessions 1997, Book 8, paragraph 17)

The Grave Consequences of Being Unthankful

When we are unthankful we magnify the actions, activities and circumstances produced by other people for or against us, and weigh our lives based on their responses, which inadvertently saps our faith in God! When we are God-focused we see the providential activity of God behind every circumstance, even as Joseph did when the word of the Lord tested him when his brothers sold him as a slave in Egypt.

Do 1 Thing This New Year – ‘Press On’

Everybody likes ‘new beginnings’, fresh starts! Having said that, I also believe in continuity and faith-fulness to the task at hand or, in the way I sign off my letters – ‘Pressing On’. There is much value in ‘positive, forward thinking’. I understand the Greek god Janus, from whom we get the name for the month January, has two faces. One looks backward with a frown, and the other ahead with a confident smile.

Greetings from Singapore

My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.

Surprise, Saviour and Surrender of Christmas

What About You? Do You Have Room In Your Heart For Jesus? Will You Open Your Heart To Jesus? Will You Surrender Your Heart To Jesus? Like Mary, Will You Welcome The Lord Jesus Christ Into Your Heart And Life. Be Open To God’s Surprises In Your Life. God’s Ways Are Mysterious, Wonderful And Altogether Good.

Meticulous Micromanaging God

A scientist who was studying astronomy and space science was overwhelmed by its vastness, variety, design, movements, energy, balance and perfectness. He thought that there cannot be any single person who could design such a thing, sustain or protect such a vast space. Then, he concluded it is impossible for any ‘God’ to create such a thing.

The Spiritual Side of Success. IQ + EQ + SQ = The Real You

My formula for the session was that IQ + EQ + SQ = The Real You. This seemed to have gone down a lot smoother for people who were confusing spiritual success with religion. I have met a lot of religious people who are bankrupt in the faith department. By the same token, I have met a lot of miserable people who have bank accounts that will never be depleted.

How Long Will You Mourn?

The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” But Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” The LORD said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’ Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.” 1 Samuel 16:1-3

Effective Study Methods

Study is a part of life for anyone who goes to school or college and every person studies in different ways to some degree or the other. Webster’s New World Dictionary defines ‘study’ as the following: “the act or process of applying the mind so as to acquire knowledge or understanding, as by reading, investigating, etc., or careful attention to, and critical examination and investigation of, any subject, event, etc.” This definition makes it clear that study is an intellectual activity involving the application of our minds for the purpose of gaining knowledge or understanding.
