We await the New Year. We hope for the best for we truly don’t know what it holds for us. Sadly, we are denied that divine privilege and perspective . . . .As humans, we must become better – in our grasp of reality, truth, love, hope, freedom. The Year 2009 seems like the worst of times. The Credit Crunch, Climate change, Job Loss and War are issues that need immediate affirmative action. But then, we must truly become human to give our remedial measures a human touch (identity, responsibility, relationality and destiny).
The God Who Creates New Year For You
The year 2008 is done. Never to come back. The clock has ticked. The bells have rung. Time flies even before you can think of it! Just when you thought you had time, a year is gone. “Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day” wrote William Shakespeare years ago. Maybe you struggled a lot in the past year. There was debt. There was accident. There was illness. There was disappointment. There was a lot that went wrong. Now here you are peeking into 2009. You are hoping against hope for something new this year. You see, hope is what kept many Jewish prisoners alive in the Nazi camps. Many died for simply lack of hope.
WWW.2009 – Waiting, Watching, Working
We are going to enter a New Year - 2009. There are elaborate arrangements in various parts of the world to mark this occasion. Every new day brings us closer to eternity. Either the Lord’s coming is getting ahead by a day or our death. Therefore, it is essential to anticipate the future with serenity. This is possible, only by rescheduling our lives according to Luke 12: 35-43. There are three principles written in that. They are Waiting, Watching and Working. Those who are familiar with the Internet can understand the significance of www. Mera Yesu (Punjabi) – My Jesus – Indian Christians Got Talent

Jesus Christ is the Reason For the Season
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

O Holy Night
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining, 'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! O, hear the angels' voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born; O night divine, O night, O night Divine.

Christmas, However, Is Not Good News For Every Person
Christmas for many is a time of sadness and of pain. It is not good news for daily wagers, when redundancy looms, nor is it good news for families of farmers who have lost their crops. Is it glad tidings for Srilankan Tamil refugees who experience agony, pain and sufferings in their own country as well as in India due the ethnic conflict? Christmas is not good news either for orphan children go through pain and suffering for their day-to-day survival. Moreover, Christmas is not good news for those who have lost their loved ones in the year that has gone by. For The God Of the Mountain is Still The God Of the Valley
Life is easy. When your up on the mountain. And you’ve got peace of mind. Like you’ve never known. But then things change and your down in the valley. Don’t lose hope for your never alone. For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley. When things go wrong He’ll make them right. And the God of the good times, is still God of the bad times. And the God of the day is still God of the night.

Three Things That Make For A Great Marriage!
Marriage is a covenant relationship between three parties – husband, wife and God. A contract made between two parties can be broken by mutual agreement, but the marriage covenant cannot be broken. If the husband or wife chooses to break the covenant, then in addition to breaking their covenant with the spouse, he/she also breaks the covenant made with God. The marriage covenant is important because it is through the marriage that the home is set. The church first begins at home and the five-fold ministry - pastoring, teaching, prophesying, evangelizing and the apostolic – begins at home.
Living Out The Kingdom of God
The kingdom of God cannot be captured in a box, or analyzed in a test tube, so as to have a complete grip and understanding of it. The kingdom of God is not impervious to true prophetic criticizing and re-energizing. The kingdom of God is something else entirely. The effect of the kingdom can be seen, but its methods are actualized to context; thereby the cause remains in God and His Word, but the reality is in the difference it makes in the world it has affected. The kingdom of God is truly at work.
The True Gospel And The False Gospel
Satan doesn't care even if we have the right doctrine, experience and church-pattern, so long as we continue to "live for ourselves" (This, by the way, is just another phrase for "living in sin"!!). Christendom today is filled with Christians who seek their own and live for themselves, who are yet convinced that God views them as superior to other Christians, merely because of doctrinal differences or church-pattern or "experiences". This shows what a great work Satan has succeeded in doing in Christendom. In John 6:38, our Lord said that He came from heaven to earth: (1) To deny His human will (that He had acquired, when He came to earth as a Man), and (2) To do the will of His Father, as a Man. Thereby He became our example.
American Election: Change for Change Sake?
American election has ripple effect. In the context of Globalization, election result in the super-power nation United States of America is considered significant, as its implications would have a ripple effect on the whole world. Barack Obama has been elected as the first Afro-American and 44th President of USA. Election 2008 would have made history even other wise as US would have elected a woman as Vice-President. Almost all heads of nations eagerly congratulated the President-elect, media coverage of the election was total around the globe, and there is lot of expectations not only in North America but in all the nooks and corners of the world. Why Indian Evangelicals Could Rejoice At Obama’s Victory
Dear President Elect Barack Obama, Congratulations on your well-deserving victory. As thousands of black preachers always began, we too want to begin our congratulatory note with “All Glory and Honor to God”. . . . “And I heard Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright deliver a sermon called "The Audacity of Hope." And during the course of that sermon, he introduced me to someone named Jesus Christ. I learned that my sins could be redeemed. I learned that those things I was too weak to accomplish myself, He would accomplish with me if I placed my trust in Him. And in time, I came to see faith as more than just a comfort to the weary or a hedge against death, but rather as an active, palpable agent in the world and in my own life. It was because of these newfound understandings that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity one day and affirm my Christian faith. It came about as a choice, and not an epiphany. I didn't fall out in church, as folks sometimes do. The questions I had didn't magically disappear. The skeptical bent of my mind didn't suddenly vanish. But kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side, I felt I heard God's spirit beckoning me.”

Global Boom and Global Gloom
September and October (2008) financial crisis in US had contagious effect on the whole world. Stock market downfall, liquid cash disappearance, foreign exchange rates becoming unstable, anxiety and fear in investors, some suicides were reported from several parts of the world. Is it the sign of global recession? Pink is the colour that is considered scary, as people are rapidly loosing their jobs . . . the global society needs to be in ICU for spiritual shock treatment and surgery. Alas, prophets try to apply band aids as solutions and declare all will be well. Will the Church produce prophets for the post-modern era? Yes, God will raise his own witnesses for every generation.
Importance of Family – I Really Miss My Father
Chinappa Moses David! He wasn’t popular. He wasn’t polished in education. He wasn’t prosperous. His work wasn’t professional. He wasn’t even a preacher. He didn’t possess any fascinating expertise according to the standards of the world. On the contrary, he was born to a poor family on October 24, 1940. He lost his father when he was a child. Life wasn’t easy for him. He was brought up under rugged circumstances. He was unloved, abused and neglected. He worked as an ordinary bus driver till the last day of his existence on earth. So what makes me to write about this person? Why should you read about this man?
An Indian Christian Convert Addresses India
My conversion was not a change of religion; it was a change of heart. I was born a Brahmin and am the grandson of a priest whom I dearly loved. I am educated and my current professional standing indicates that I am reasonably intelligent. I am also affluent and my income would put me distinctly in the upper middle class bracket. I guess that would make me high-caste, rich and smart. In other words, I am not a tribal, or poor or dim-witted. And yet, I chose to become a follower of Jesus Christ. The world would call me a convert to Christianity. I have no problems with that, though I see my faith more as a relationship with God through Jesus Christ than as a religion. And for the record, I can truthfully claim that no one financially induced or threatened or deceived me into converting to Christianity.
Namaste From Netherlands – A Journey Through Memory Lane
Who am I? I belong to the Surinamese Indian community that came to Suriname, South America, 135 year ago. I consider myself of Hindustani origin, the third generation Indian Christians, born in the Netherlands in the early sixties of the last century. My father came to the Netherlands from Suriname to study by that time. My own history started 96 years ago when my “aja/ dada”, my paternal grand father - came as a three years old boy with his mother, Nani (my maternal grandmother) and elder brother in 1912 from “United Provinces”, later known as “Uttar Pradesh” India with a ship named Ganges IV to Suriname. They departed from Calcutta on February 27th 1912 and arrived in Suriname on the 7th April 1912. He was the son of one of the free immigrants. My grandfather, a Hindu, settled down on the West Coast of Suriname, in a town called Nickerie, where he married a girl from a family who was partly Hindu, partly Muslim.
The New Europeans
Ask most Parisians about an area called “Little Bombay” and they will know that this is where large Indian communities live. They will tell you of women in colourful saris, sidewalks crowded with market stalls selling curries, exotic vegetables, silks, and the fragrance of spices in the air. Many people in Paris however fail to grasp the remarkable diversity of the Indian community in Paris. Among the some 46,000 immigrants originating from the Indian sub-continent and settled in the Parisian region, only a fraction is natives of India. Bengalis, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Punjabis, and Sri-Lankan Tamils form culturally and socially distinct groups are in Paris. Different languages and dialects are spoken. Differing customs are practised. Of these communities, the largest and most visible is the Tamil.
