I Left My Family Not Knowing What To Do Or Where To Go | Punjabi Christian

After sometime, my father came to know about my conversion and he was very upset about it. He told me to stop what I was doing and to stop following Christ. But I refused to. When he saw that I was adamant in my decision, he asked me to leave the house. With tears in my eyes, I left with the clothes on my back not knowing what to do or where to go. It has been many years now since I have not been back to my family’s home because of the deep hostilities and anger of my decision to follow Christ. I am as good as a dead son to my father.

Disease, Despair, Doubt . . . and Defining Declarations in God

I would wake up daily to the horrifying sight of my bed sheets covered in blood and puss, and very often, the sheets would be stuck to my skin due to the dried puss. My bed sheets went right into disinfectant. The stench of my infected skin was most unbearable. I was called a fool for my decision to only trust in God, people ridiculed the fact that I was solely dependent on God’s word for my healing, and it was beyond their comprehension that God would heal me. Nobody believed I would be healed.

Under his leadership it became the country’s largest predominantly African-American Christian College. Sam Chand is a former Pastor, college President, Chancellor and now serves as President Emeritus of Beulah Heights University.

Sikh Priest. Now A Saint And Soldier For Jesus Christ

I was born into an orthodox Sikh family, and wore my turban proudly to identify with my clan. Because of our religious orthodox background, I was educated in a Sikh mission school. My family members decided that I should become a Sikh priest, so I had to study the holy book of the Sikh religion, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib, along with my secular subjects.

Make A Difference

I believe the best way to make a difference and leave a lasting legacy is to be a champion, serving others and helping them achieve their purpose. A champion is someone who uses their time, talent and treasure to serve others, bettering their lives so they may encounter God and achieve their purpose. Champions make a difference for good, they make a difference for God by serving others.

I Have Found My Purpose, Have You?

As I started to pursue the call of God in my life, I was not sure whether I should be in full time ministry. Two or three years I was in dilemma about this matter. But the desire to teach and preach the word of God increased still more. After that I joined in a Bible college which God directed me to join. A lot of maturity and revelation came to me those days. God miraculously provided all the fees I needed to finish it. I found true joy and peace as I obeyed the voice of God. Praise the Lord! . .  . . Even from the day I heard God, the burden to reach out to the nation of India and China which are the most populated nations and to the nations with the word of God increased in me.

So Broke, So In Debt But Here Am I Lord – "Use Me"

I had so many odds against me – I do not have any money, I do not have a passport or a valid birth certificate. I battled in my mind and thought for many days “Is it possible for me to go to Singapore with nothing in my hand and on a very short notice?” My father encouraged me with these words from the book of Romans “The Just Shall Live By Faith” and told me to read, meditate and pray these words over my life. I took a step of faith and immediately began the process of planning to go to the  School of Theology in Singapore.. .  . . I totally depended on God for everything – for finances, for a lap-top, for friends, for food, for travel and living arrangements. God gave me many good friends from many different countries of the  world, provided for my every need and even a lap-top for my personal use.

From Loss of Control To God in Control

Yasmeen Suri was born in India to a Sikh family. They moved to America when she was a child. Former Singapore Gangster Turned Dynamic Preacher Inspires Many

A young man, slapped with all the addictions one can possibly imagine, being freed from them by the power of the Gospel, as he testifies. Referring to himself as a street gangster turned preacher, Victor King relates how though he was raised in a Christian family, he was rebellious and went on a seemly irreversibly downhill trajectory as he got involved in a gang, picked up smoking, started skipping school, stealing, vandalising, drinking and getting into fights.

From A Worshiped Guru To A Worshiping Disciple Of Jesus Christ

My disciples would carry me on their shoulders so that my feet did not touch the ground. They would wash my feet upon reaching their homes and would drink that as “anjal” and would meet all my needs/wants/preferences. All our material and financial needs were gladly met by the tithes of our disciples. They also served us in every way possible because they considered it a privilege and honour to please us so as to please god - guru being a mediator between god and them.

Cheryl Balwani – Walking With Jesus On The 'Right Path'

When I accepted New Age, it seemed to be the truth to me. I had rejected the Bible as I thought it was too narrow-minded in its approach as far as the concept of God and salvation were concerned. I realized later that New Age isn’t the Truth. These are just alternative ways which give people some kind of comfort and truth in their lives, but it's not the Truth. It will lead you away from God for sure. I also got into astrology and occultism. I even started reading these cult books which talked about life after death. Astrology and occultism are indeed the wrong things to put your faith into.

Kadambari – A Sindhi Christian – My Desire Is To Do God's Will

When I got back from England he was gone. I was shocked, shattered and cried my heart out but nothing could bring him back to me. I realized life was meaningless, all was in vain. I went into a state of depression and fear. I was physically and mentally sick. My business started failing and I had huge financial losses. I ultimately decided to shut down both my Film Production Company and Textile Company. I stopped doing my concerts, expenses increased and income decreased.  The storm came, the wind blew and all was lost. I knew I had no purpose to live now.
