The Jatt Sikhs are a locally dominant People Group in northwestern India. They live mostly in the Indian state of Punjab, where they make up 42.5% percent of the population. There are nearly 11 million Jatt Sikhs in all of India.
Jatt Sikhs are a hardworking farming community. They have a strong, deep sense of pride and are conservative in their outlook. Jatt Sikhs are proud of their strong men and their beautiful women. They are confident, independent, frank people. They also like to help others and tend to live simply. Typically, to know them is to like them.
They traditionally are the landlords and are by and large well off financially. Jatt Sikhs hold the political and economic power in Punjab. However, they are the least evangelized People Group among the Punjabis of India.
The Jatt Sikhs need your prayers so that they can know the full blessings of the one true God.
Please join with other followers of Christ in prayer and fasting for the Jatt Sikhs. You can start now by praying Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV):
Prayer
“This is what the LORD says:
‘Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom
or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,’ declares the LORD.”
