Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

I Want To Run After Things That Matter

No, I’m not talking about the next big thing, I’m talking about things that matter continually because they are of higher significance. I want to live life with a constant attitude of growth and change. I hate being put into a box. Anytime I realize that I’m ‘in-a-box’, I try and do something to grow a little bigger, become a little more mysterious. I would say that I used to dislike the mundane and commonplace. It would drive me nuts doing the same thing over and over again. Yet somehow, I’ve found myself in a place where I’ve begun to ask myself the questions of higher significance.

Value The Approval Of God More Than The Approval Of Men

Let us seek for the approval of God and not that of men. . . . In the final analysis, when we stand before the Lord, the opinions of all the billions of people in the world will count for nothing. Only God's opinion will matter in that day. Even the praises of your fellow-believers are fit only to be thrown in the garbage bin. It's only what God thinks about you that matters. People may praise you to the skies, while God thinks nothing of you. On the other hand, people may tear you to pieces and God may consider you to be the greatest man in your generation. Few have the spiritual discernment to recognise a man's worth in his lifetime. So don't get discouraged if you find people don't understand the way you are going. If God sees that you are humble, He will give you grace and you will overcome sin and the world.

Vision Management Class: An Interview With A Visionary Leader

I had the privilege of interviewing a visionary leader Pastor Pritam Singh. I was always amazed at the dedication and diligence he displayed when overcoming obstacles, finishing tasks, and seeing his dreams become a reality. When I look at this man, there really is nothing else that beats in his heart. He honestly lives out the Great Commission, and believes what the Bible says. He honors his God as he pastors, as he fathers, as he is an awesome husband, as an amazing friend, and as a exemplary visionary. This man speaks what he lives and I appreciate that so much about him. I have been touched by his dedication to ministry and to fulfilling the call of God on his life.

An Excellent Example For All Young People To Follow

Daniel never knew, when he started out being faithful as a young man (probably around 17 years old), what a tremendous ministry he was going to have. He just remained faithful to God in little things and big, and God accomplished a great ministry through him. Daniel's life was a testimony to the people of Medo-Persia concerning the true God. God allows trials to come to us too, in order to manifest our testimony to others. When we endure in persecution and love our persecutors, others will see Christ in us. And if we have to lay down our lives for the gospel one day, let us lay it down with our heads lifted up and a spirit of praise in our hearts to the Lord because we know that our God is on the throne.

Noah As An Example Of A Model Leader

In the progressive church, leadership means having to successfully deal with many different kinds of leaders in our church in order to fulfill our vision. Truly, learning how to release different kinds of people is the key to releasing your vision. Noah is symbolically a great model for this kind of leadership because he had to navigate a ship that had animals together as diverse as a lion and a sheep. Today’s progressive apostolic leader must learn how to shepherd emerging political, financial, and church leadership all in one ship.

Be An Effective Leader- Relationship Management and Emotional Intelligence

Study after study, not to mention good old common sense, demonstrates the key to exceptional leadership lies in developing the leadership competencies related to people skills.  Strengthening one's interpersonal skills elevates a person's leadership abilities and results dramatically.  These people skills are well defined and discussed within the concepts set forth in the groundbreaking work done by Daniel Goleman on Emotional Intelligence.  Studies have demonstrated that leaders who consistently outperform their peers not only have the technical skills required, but more importantly, have mastered most of the aspects of Emotional Intelligence.

Where Are You in the Journey?

The Bible teaches that the Scriptures were given to us so we could learn from their example (1 Corinthians 10:11). Out of all the biblical heroes, there was perhaps no one more enigmatic than Elijah, who experienced all the highs and lows most of us experience in our Christian and human journey. One day he was confronting the enemy; the next day he was running from the enemy in need a fresh word of the Lord to continue his mission. The following passages on the life of Elijah show the various stages all of us go through i.e. The Alone Stage, The Needy Stage, The Persevering and Testing Stage, The Great Faith Stage,  The Discouragement Stage, The Recharging Stage, The Reassessment Stage and The Recommissioning Stage.

See The Answer!

Can You See The Answer? All of us are good at seeing the problems. But how many of us can see the answers? When problems overwhelm you, it is quite difficult to see that the answer is already given. We forget everything that God has already done. We forget the promises upon our lives. We forget the spiritual authority granted to us. Instead of standing up as a giant and exercising the spiritual authority, we crumble on our knees and start crying like babies.Until we learn to acquire that mindset, we will be fretting over a lot of things.  May God help you to win the battles in your life today!

The Dreaded Champions Are Coming

There is emerging on the earth, an army, the likes of which have not been seen before. It is an army of ‘dreaded champions’. They are dreaded because they cause dread to come into the camp of the enemy. They are champions because they do not live for themselves but champion the cause of their king Jesus. Creation itself has been waiting for these champions to be revealed. ‘The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.’ Romans 8:19. You have an opportunity to rise up and be a part of this end time army of believers, a dreaded champion of the last days. I encourage you to embrace the Lords highest purpose for you so that the nature of Christ is formed in you. You are a Champion in the making!

Young Lady– You Are Called And Anointed

I believe that women are created with a specific purpose and God loves us. Picture this- think of the creation story, our God puts Adam to sleep and takes his rib. While God was walking away into His lab to create Eve, I believe He had a specific purpose in mind. I am going to share a few empowering thoughts I had about God in my spiritual journey. I had many “God moments.”  God moments are the times you hear from God and get a revelation either during church worship, a sermon, my own personal devotions or even dreams or visions. It really hit me when one day during a worship service, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Young lady, you are called and anointed, I have a plan and purpose for you…”

Keys to Understanding Yourself and Releasing Your Purpose

Purpose is the innate sense of knowing why you were born (John 18:37), Vision is the ability to see in your heart your purpose unfolding (Luke 4:18), Mission is the general description of your purpose (Mark 16:15) and Goals are practical steps that bridge your vision and dreams to reality (Luke 13:32). Most people want their lives to be filled with meaning, purpose, and significance. God created us all for a purpose and He has  mapped out our lives before we were born for a purpose. Fulfilling purpose is never selfish but always blesses humanity. God didn’t give you a purpose to have a nice house, cars, and luxury. Those are only by-products of blessings but not the purpose of your existence. Read on as Joseph Mattera shares the keys to understanding who you are and what your purpose in life is.

Top Five Regrets of an Eighty-Year-Old Minister

I have been around many older ministers over 28 years of full-time ministry. I have also noticed that only very few seem satisfied with the way they prioritized their time in regards to their life and ministry. Because of this I often spend my time thinking ahead about many years from now, when I will be near the end of my earthly sojourn, and try to visualize what activity and fruit borne that would give me the most pleasure based on the Scriptures and my calling.  The following observations are those I have made for myself, looking ahead so that I will not live my last days with regret, cynicism, and denial.

18 and Preaching the Word!

Meet  Moses Ajay Patras - the 18 years old preacher extra-ordaniare. He's young, godly and passionate to serve God's purposes in our generation. Last week Moses preached his first sermon on "Unity" from Ephesians 4:1 -7. Moses says that unity is not just a possibility; it is a divine requirement if we are to be everything God wants us to be as a church . . . and there is no divorcing Christian doctrine from Christian duty! “You know the truth, now walk in it!” The bottom line is this: Where there is genuine faith, there will be genuine works to back it up in unity!

Mentors Or Tormentors

A leader, correctly understood within the Christian context, is a steward of the followers, co-workers and personnel under his or her care.  Often, that care involves simply being a loving brother or sister in Christ. Unfortunately, instead of loving other people, many leaders often exploit or discourage them. The net result of perverted stewardship and corrupted leadership is a loss for the Kingdom of God.  Many organizations are left without proper successors and young followers often fall away, discouraged and disillusioned.  Many potentially great leaders have become casualties because of the unethical behaviour of senior leaders.  God calls such leaders to repent and to rediscover the true meaning of being a steward-leader.

How do Global New Christian Leaders look like?

In the 21st century, to be effective in meeting the world with Christ and His ethos, there is a need for a new caliber of leadership. Any movement will only go as far as where the leader takes it. There are ample of examples in the Bible such as Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Joseph, Paul and others. Leaders create momentums to impact the world. Therefore, it has become a very important issue both in the secular and Christian world to input into leadership that will spearhead these changes.
