Introducing Your Heavenly Father
HAVING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
There is only one place where we will find the true love and acceptance that we were created to experience and that is in a personal relationship with the One who created us.
We were all born with a God sized “hole in our soul” that can only be filled by God Himself. While many of us have tried to fill this void with other things, it is like putting a square peg in a round hole… it just doesn’t fit.
THE GOOD NEWS!!!
The good news is that God wants to be in a relationship with us MORE than we want to be in a relationship with Him! It was because of His great love and His desire to be reconciled with us that He sent His one and only Son into the world two thousand years ago.
It is amazing to think that the One who knit us together in our mother’s womb desires to be in a living, loving relationship with us. While we became His offspring through our natural birth, it is His desire that we would actually become His children through a new spiritual birth.
A PRAYER TO ACCEPT OR REAFFIRM YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST:
Father, I want to come home. Please make me your child. I believe that you love me and that you sent your only Son to die for me. I turn from my own ways of doing things and I turn towards Jesus. I receive the free gift of His life in exchange for my old life. I place my faith and trust in Jesus alone to save me.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and forgiving all of my sin. I receive you as my Savior and my Lord. I want to follow and serve you all the days of my life. Let today be the beginning of my new journey as a member of your family. Thank you for being the way for me to come home. Amen.
PRACTICAL STEPS TO HELP YOU IN YOUR WALK WITH GOD
- Get A Bible And Read It Each Day.
A good book to start with is the Gospel of John in the New Testament.
If you would like to download a free mobile version, visit http://www.youversion.com - Cultivate Your New Relationship With God By Simply Talking To Him.
Often this is called ‘prayer’, but in reality, it is simply keeping an ongoing conversation with the lover of your soul. - Find A Gathering Of Like Minded People.
There are millions of people around the world who have made the same decision that you have made so you are not alone. It would be great if you could find a gathering of believers that we often called a ‘church’ and get to know them. They will be a really great source of encouragement to you as you learn what it means to have Almighty God as your real Dad! - Share Your Decision With A Close Friend
We would encourage you to share your decision to follow Christ with a close friend because oftentimes, when we tell others what we did, it helps to reinforce what we now believe.
For those who prayed to receive Christ . . .
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the family! If you have prayed this prayer for the first time or if you have made a fresh commitment to Christ, let us know by sending us a message on our contact page.
