Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

Arvind Stephen | Drug Addiction | Peer Pressure | Punjabi Christian

I asked my schoolmate why he smoked. He told me that I should try it for myself and find out. I tried it and liked it because it made me forget my problems.

I started hanging out with the wrong crowd and started drinking. Then I started using all types of drugs to make me high. I would come home late at night, high on drugs and my parents were worried and concerned about my condition. I wanted money from them and argued when they wouldn’t give it to me.

Out of desperation, they sent me to a drug rehab centre. After six months at the drug rehab, I came home and was clean for about six months. Then I went back into the wrong crowd and started taking drugs again.

One day while I was surfing the internet, my friend came to visit me.

Why Are You Looking At This Rubbish All Day And Taking Drugs? Let Me Introduce You To A New Friend.”

He logged me onto The Voice Asia and said look at this, “This Radio Station Is On Air All Day, Every Day.”

He said, “This Radio Station Brings You The Word Of God, Many Testimonies And Songs.”

At that time, there was testimony playing of an ex-drug addict. I thought if he can get off drugs, then I can too. I was fed up with the effects of drug addiction on my family and myself.

I phoned The Voice Asia regularly for prayer. They encouraged me to pray assuring me that God would change my life.

I started praying and reading the Bible. My drug addiction steadily began to go away. As my drug addiction subsided, my family life became happier.

My parents were grateful to God for putting me on the right path. God changed my life through the ministry of The Voice Asia.

Whatever your problems or needs are, I encourage you to come to the LORD Jesus and tell Him about it and He will resolve it.
