ABOUT CONNEXT

Convergence of Emerging South Asian Christian Leaders

Purpose: To gather young Christian leaders of the South Asian community to connect, encourage, equip and serve together for Kingdom Impact.

Theme: Unleashing Your Leadership Potential

Event Description: A three-day gathering of young South Asian Christians to transform participants personally, professionally and spiritually in their leadership calling, abilities, and development and to identify, invest, resource and further support key emerging leaders in the community on an ongoing basis.



Objectives:

- To network and challenge emerging leaders for significant and strategic Kingdom work
- To bring together issues, insights, resources, strategies and struggles for emerging South Asian   Christian leaders across denominations, language, ministries and cities of North America
- To raise up transformational leaders to serve and mobilize the South Asian Diaspora worldwide
- To facilitate peer-learning, character development and expert coaching from faithful leaders
- To create a network to learn, develop and sustain leaders to finish well in Christian ministries

- South Asian leaders under 35 serving in North America
- Demonstrated faithfulness in lay or full-time ministry for at least three years (youth leaders,   youth pastors, church leaders, church planters, counselors, worship leaders, missionaries etc.)
- Seminarians, student-interns and those sensing a call to ministry
- Non-South Asians working with South Asians in North America
- South Asians from North America serving globally
- Leaders demonstrating Kingdom mindset, spiritually vibrant, passionate to learn and grow,   actively involved in the local church and open to work collaboratively with other leaders.

Plenary Speakers:

Dr. Ravi Zacharias [videocast]

Dr. Ravi Zacharias is founder and chairman of the board of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with additional offices in Canada, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong.

He is a leading thinker, prolific speaker and apologist of the Christian faith. He has spoken all over the world in universities, heads of state and churches. His weekly radio program, “Let My People Think,” is aired on more on almost 1700 outlets worldwide, and his weekday program, “Just Thinking,” on almost 400. He has authored over 25 books, including Shattered Visage: The Real Face of Atheism, Can Man Live without God and Jesus Among Other Gods. His recent books include Walking from East to West, The Grand Weaver, End of Reason and New Birth or Rebirth: Jesus Talks to Krishna.

Dr. Ramesh Richard

Dr. Ramesh Richard is a spiritual philosopher and global mentor. He is the founder and president of RREACH, (Ramesh Richard Evangelism and Church Helps). He had the opportunity to train thousands of church leaders in more than 75 countries to preach, live, and think biblically. He has also authored several books including ‘Soul Mission’ and ‘Soul Vision.’

Dr. Ramesh Richard serves as a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). He teaches courses on expository preaching, the spiritual life, and worldview apologetics. A theologian-preacher, philosopher-evangelist, and professor-author, Dr. Richard holds a Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Delhi. Dr. T.V. Thomas

Rev. Dr. TV Thomas was born in Malacca, Malaysia of South Asian parents. Dr. Thomas makes his home in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada with his wife, Mary and three children, Victor, Molly and Melanie. He began his ministry as an itinerant evangelist in 1974 before he was appointed as the Professor of Evangelism for the Murray W. Downey Chair of Evangelism at Canadian Bible College and Canadian Theological Seminary from 1984-1994. Currently, Rev. Dr. Thomas serves as the Director for the Centre for Evangelism & World Mission. He serves on numerous national and international boards. He is the Chair of the North American Council for South Asian Christians (NACSAC) and President of the Fellowship of Canadian Evangelists (FOCE). His deep commitment to world evangelization calls for extensive national and international travel to minister to camps, churches, colleges/seminaries, retreats, seminars, conferences and consultations as an expositor of the Word, an evangelist and educator.

Dr. Martin Alphonse

Dr. Martin Alphonse, is a professor of missions and evangelism at Multnomah Seminary in Portland, OR. Beginning as a church planter in a village of India in 1976, Alphonse's ministry expanded to global proportions. Alphonse has been a missionary, served as a pastor of Methodist churches, and taught in evangelism related institutes and seminaries in India, Singapore, and the United States. A gifted speaker, Alphonse has been featured as a plenary presenter in major global gatherings of evangelicals, including one sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. He maintains an active itinerant ministry over weekends and during the summer months. Alphonse and his wife, Padmini, have two sons, Anugrah and Nirup, both of whom are recent graduates of Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, and a daughter, Nisha.

Sam Dharam

Sam serves on Youth With a Mission (YWAM) based out of Madison, WI. In 1984 Sam began his ministry with YWAM Singapore. He is married Jennifer and they been ministering together in YWAM since their marriage in1986. They have two teenage sons, Daniel and Dominic.

YWAM is an international, multi denominational Mission Agency. It has operating locations in over 150 Nations. Its main focus is Training Evangelism and Mercy Ministry. YWAM offers short term and long term mission opportunities with varied expressions.

Sam’s ministry in YWAM has taken him to 43 countries and counting. He has passionately committed to communicating the Word of God all over the world. My desire to preach like Peter did as recorded in Acts 2:37. Sam and Jennifer want to see individuals and churches rise up to their potential and destiny in Christ. They desire to be Gods instruments of transformation; looking for ways to raise the spiritual standards among the people.

To that end Sam and Jennifer now are serving with YWAM Madison. Sam´s days are filled with networking and building bridges between churches, promoting unity, mentoring pastors and other Christian leaders, preaching and teaching at YWAM training schools and carious churches and inter-church gatherings, seminars and conferences, nationally and internationally. www.dharams.com
