Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

Nothing Is Impossible With God!

Nothing Is Impossible With God!

Eversince a child, I had a severe stammering problem where I could not even speak clearly or read a simple sentence fluently. Though, I went to a speech therapist, there wasn’t much improvement. As a consequence, I was always afraid to speak in public as I didn’t want to be ridiculed.

One day, a sister in Christ shared about Jesus and my whole family came to know the Lord.  I remember, my speech therapist coming out of her office, just to inform my mum that the whole family of a bank officer has become Christians. To her utter surprise, my mum smiled and just said “Praise the Lord, we are that family.”

From that day onwards, I was never given another appointment for speech therapy. My mum, not losing faith, told me not to lose heart but to sing gospel songs whenever I was free though I sang like a frog.

In months, my speech began to improve and praise the Lord, I was healed.  Being just 8 years old, this miracle strengthened my faith which was as small as the mustard seed as stated in Matthew 17:20 and my trust in God grew.

In the next school oral examination, I scored an ‘A’.   A couple of years later, I was selected to be the Master of Ceremony at my work place.  Praise God for the complete healing.

Many times, I remembered coming out from the school examination halls feeling weary as I did the papers badly.

In these times, instead of trusting my own understanding, I began to learn to trust God as Proverbs 3:5-6 decalres “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Praise the Lord that for those very same papers, I scored ‘As’. This was only the beginning and God was opening more doors in my life.  With the grace of God, I did well in my undergraduate studies and the loan I took for my studies was converted into a scholarship. This was truly another blessing from our Lord, and with policy changes at the university,  my cohort was given the privilege as the last intake not to repay back our loans. I believe this was not by coincidence, but a divine arrangement by God.

I had a deep desire to do a post-graduate Master’s course overseas but could not afford to pursue my dream because of financial challenges.  Nevertheless, in faith I prayed and asked God to provide the said financial needs if it was His will.

Again, in God's perfect timing, our God who is Jehovah Jireh, provides all our needs according to His riches and glory.  I was awarded the Malaysia- Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration Scholarship to study a two yearsMasters program in Melbourne, Australia.

I have learnt that nothing is impossible with God and He makes all things beautiful in His time.
