Serving God's Purposes in Our Generation (Acts 13:36b)

Closing the Gap

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled." (Matthew 5:6)

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; " Isaiah 43:1-3)

Come on now! We have all felt the gap before. It is the gap that lies between what we are and what we can become, where we are and what we long to be, what we're are doing now and what we were really long to do and be, in the grander scheme of things, namely, in His kingdom! It is a desire, an awakening, a calling the reaches out to us from our inner most being. It rises up and tells us that there is more out there that we can accomplish and become!

This is what we call the gap and it is time to close in on it. It is when we see ourselves really fulfilling and accomplishing our destiny! We sometimes get a taste of it and it leaves us wanting more. They are those moments when we sense we are in the center of all God wants for us! It is after the haze that comes from heartfelt repentance. It is in the rare moments where we are doing and being all that we really want. It is the fulfillment of a deep hunger and thrist for righteousness. It is the satisfaction and fulfillment of it!

It is time to close the gap!

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
(Phillipians 1:3-6)
